Things to do at home during lockdown: The best online and virtual events taking place today - June 8

You know the drill by now: things are starting to ease across the country ever so slightly, but we’re still socially distancing and spending most of our time indoors.

Still, the internet has done it's thing, with theatre, comedy and art exhibitions all headed online.

Besides, there's light on the horizon: more restaurants are opening for delivery, there are plenty of online cocktail and wine masterclasses to get stuck into and cinemas are hopeful of opening soon as well.

Head online for the Marylebone Summer Festival

The Marylebone Summer Festival is going digital for the first time, with workshops, classes and promotions taking place from today until June 14. The Ginger Pig, La Fromagerie, Caldesi and Rococo Chocolates will all be posting food and drink ideas and recipes on social media today, while there’s a meditation workshop from workout space AMP to look out for too. Check out the London Burlesque festival online

The capital’s burlesque performers have been busy during lockdown, with more than 60 artists recording exclusive videos for the new online London Burlesque festival. Fans purchasing tickets will gain access to a diverse range of performances from now until July 31, supporting London’s cabaret and burlesque scene in the process.

Waxahatchee, AKA American artist Katie Crutchfield, is set to perform a series of streams where she plays through each of her albums in full. Last week, it was American Weekend from 2012, and this time round, it's her acclaimed follow-up, Cerulean Salt. It’s a late one, beginning at 2am, but one worth staying up for.

Wimbledon pub The Alexandra is taking to its Facebook, Instagram and landlord Mike's Twitter account (@14thefrog) to bring its weekly quiz into the homes of self-distanced Londoners. The quiz takes place on the Young’s pub’s page every Monday at 8pm, with the picture round released online at 4pm for those looking to get a head start.
