Things to do at home during lockdown: The best online and virtual events taking place today

The first steps have been taken to ease lockdown, but we're still going to be spending plenty of time at home over the coming weeks.

Thankfully, London has been busy moving it’s cultural output online, and millions of us have been tuning in for theatre, comedy and art exhibitions from our sofas.

There’s good news for foodies, too, with more restaurants opening for delivery, and cinemas hopeful of opening soon.

Take part in a virtual escape room experience

What started as a labour of love for Capital FM’s Dave Murphy has turned into something of a sensation during lockdown – the radio producer decided that instead of surprising his girlfriend with flowers on her birthday, he’d build her a series of virtual escape rooms which can be played in groups over zoom. Tune in for a live human jukebox event

Camden Town Brewery has been busy during lockdown bringing virtual events to beer lovers at home, and it’s back tonight for something a little different. Head online from 8pm, when the brewery will be welcoming human jukebox Tony Bowen to perform songs requested by fans – it’s all for a good cause too, with money raised going to Hospitality Action.

Hear St Pancras’s resident pianist Benjamin Kahn live

Lots of people are missing the little things at the moment, but this might help. Imagine your striding through St Pancras on your way to catch a train with this recital from Benjamin Kahn, the French pianist who played the piano inside the station every day for five months, before his talents were recognised and he was invited to play at London's Hotel Café Royal and other venues. Tune in for a live performance on Instagram from 7pm.
