We’re weeks into it now, and the UK like the rest of the world will be in coronavirus lockdown for a while longer.
Things are tough out there, but there’s a silver lining – the UK’s cultural output has moved online, and millions of us have been tuning in for theatre shows, live comedy and art exhibitions from our sofas.
Nightlife, too, has been making its way into people’s homes through virtual club nights, and people are finding ways of enjoying live music during testing times.
These are our top picks of the things to get up to online today – make sure to check out our main guide for things to keep yourself occupied with at home, too.
Tune in for live jazz with The Blue Note

Step inside one of the most famous music venues in the world with The Blue Note Live – a new series of virtual shows being streamed from inside the legendary New York jazz club. Tune in, see fantastic live performances and support artists via the virtual tip jar. Tonight features sets from Bob James, Maurice Brown and Aneesa Strings at 11pm, 1am and 3am respectively.
Enjoy a living room rave with HONOR ‘Live’ House
Techno favourite Deborah De Luca heads up this DJ stream, which is being hosted by tech brand HONOR and electronic music hub Beatport. Stay tuned for sets from Clyde P, Barely Legal and more. Tune in from 5pm-11pm, streaming on Twitch, Facebook and YouTube.
See Andrew Scott in a one man play
Theatre lovers can watch one of the UK’s most popular actors in action from home, with a recording of Andrew Scott in solo show Sea Wall now available to watch online. Simon Stephen's one-man play, which Scott originally performed in 12 years ago, is now on YouTube for a week. The half-an-hour monologue about a man facing up to mortality after a terrible accident takes away everything he had to depend on.
Take a pub quiz with The Old Dairy
This Crouch Hill pub is obviously still closed, but is carrying on regardless with its pub quiz, running a virtual version tonight at 7.40pm. You can watch the quiz via a live broadcast on Twitter, but you’re asked to register your team beforehand via email or direct message. Each week, the pub chooses a different charity which it asks its participants to donate to, with previous choices including NHS Charities and The Trussell Trust.
