Manchester United fans made their thoughts clear after Anthony Martial expressed to Ralf Rangnick his desire to leave the Reds.
But the German interim manager has admitted if there are no clubs interested in the Frenchman, then he will stay put.
The 26-year-old's form has dipped in recent seasons and as a result appearances have become limited.
His agent, Philippe Lamboley, recently revealed that he would like to leave in January, but Rangnick responded by saying he doesn't deal with player agents.
But Rangnick has discussed his conversation with Martial, confirming that he wants to leave Old Trafford.
"Yes, we spoke I think it was yesterday (Wednesday), we spoke at length. He explained to me he’s been at Manchester United now for the last seven years and he feels it’s the right time for a change, to go somewhere else," he said.
United fans were unanimous in their thoughts on the latest development from the former Monaco striker.
Martial has added just one goal to his tally this season for the Reds, scoring eight since last season after failing to reach the heights.
Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have all been linked with his services but the former RB Leipzig head coach admitted that there has been no formal interest with the January transfer window looming.
He added: "I told him, listen, as long as there is no club showing interest in him, and it should not only be in the interest of the player it should also be in the interest of the club.
"So far, as far as I know, there has been no offer from any other club and as long as this is the case he will stay."
