Thieves target vehicles in Lawndale: police

Police are warning Lawndale residents after a trio of thefts were reported last week on the West Side.

In each case, someone took parts or property from parked vehicles, Chicago police said in an alert.

A theft happened about 6 p.m. July 14 in the 1900 block of South Hamlin Avenue, police said. Another took place between 1 a.m. and noon July 19 a block away in the 1800 block of South Hamlin.

A third theft occurred about 10 a.m. July 16 in the 1400 block of South Pulaski Road, police said.

Police didn’t have a description of any suspects.

Anyone with information about the thefts is asked to call Area Central detective at 312-747-8382.
