Three people have been sentenced after a spate of thefts and the assault of a security guard.
Police have been investigating four incidents of theft from shops in Bolton within a matter of days, carried out by the same gang of shoplifters.
Officers first received reports of two thefts from a shop in Breightmet Fold Lane on October 1.
Two days later, on October 3, police were sent more reports of a theft from a shop in New Lane.
On October 4, a security guard was assaulted at a shop in Bury Road. Later on that day, police received further reports of a theft from a shop in New Lane once again.
Three people have now been sentenced for the series of thefts after pleading guilty to the charges at Bolton Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, Greater Manchester Police has confirmed.
John Phelps, 36, of Bleak Street in Tonge Moor, has been sentenced for 29 weeks imprisonment for two counts of shoplifting and common assault.
Lisa Phelps, 38, also of Bleak Street, has been sentenced to 27 weeks imprisonment for four counts of shoplifting.
Laura Brown, 29, also of Bleak Street, has been sentenced to six week imprisonment, suspended for 12 months, for two counts of shoplifting.
Brown was also ordered to pay £93 compensation and given an electronically tagged curfew for eight weeks.
