Thieves target Lidl store in west Leeds

Burglars broke into a Stanningley Lidl store this morning (Thursday) at just before 5am.

Police say they forced the main doors open during the break-in at the Town Street branch in Belgrave Retail Park.

No arrests have been made yet however police are asking anyone with information to phone them on 101 quoting crime reference 13190493891.

A spokesman for West Yorkshore Police said: "A burglary at Lidl, Town Street, Stanningley, was reported to us at 5.55am this morning.

"It is believed to have occurred between 4.45am and 5am.

"The main doors had been forced open – but it is not yet known if items were taken.

"Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or who has any information is asked to contact officers via 101 quoting crime reference 13190493891."
