Man woke up in hospital to find his property stolen while he was unconscious

A DJ has told how he collapsed after a gig in Bristol and woke up in hospital to find his property stolen while he was unconscious.

And the thieves who attacked Eoin Still took everything he had - including a laptop computer and memory stick with ten years’ worth of his music collection.

Now Mr Still, who is better known on Britain’s music scene as Dissident, is appealing for anyone who knows what happened to his MacBook computer to tell the police - because it contains his entire music catalogue.

The 26-year-old DJ was in Bristol to play a DJ set at the Old Crown Court venue on Saturday night and into the early hours of Sunday morning.

He left the venue at the end of the night but collapsed with exhaustion in the Bearpit at around 6am.

“I wasn’t feeling great and I sat down and was texting a friend and then I must’ve slipped into unconsciousness,” he said.

“I was absolutely exhausted. I passed out. The next thing I remember is that I woke up in hospital. But everything had been taken from me,” he added.

Mr Still, who went to the University of Bristol, subsequently discovered that a passer-by had called the police to report that they could see someone had passed out and someone else was going through their pockets. An ambulance was also called, and took Mr Still to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, a short distance away.

“Everything had gone from my pockets, my wallet, phone, bank cards, everything,” he said.

“And my bag was taken too, and in that was my MacBook. It’s just a regular 13-inch silver MacBook, but it had thousands of tunes on there, ten years of my music catalogue - everything I use to DJ and it’s gone.

“It’s basically ten year’s worth of the music that I’ve collected, and I would love to have it back,” added Mr Still, who is recovering at his family home in Essex.

A spokesperson for the police said they were investigating what happened.

“We're investigating following the theft of a number of items from a man on St James Barton Roundabout on Sunday morning sometime between 5.30am and 8am.

“The 26-year-old victim was unconscious at the time of the incident and was taken to hospital by ambulance shortly after.

“A MacBook Pro, an iPhone 5 and a bank card were among the items stolen.

“Anyone who witnessed the theft, or has any other information which could help our inquiry, is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5219225212,” he added.

The incident happened just two days after police chiefs and the mayor in levels of crime in the Bearpit following the summer’s work to clean up the area and clear out squatters and a community arts project.
