A mobile locksmith has been hit in the pocket by callous thieves who stole his works van containing £3000 worth of tool he needs to run his business.
Lee Wilson, 40, parked his white and black Ford Transit van on Troon Avenue last night around 9pm and when he returned to get it today discovered it was gone.
It comes following a spate of thefts of vans and other vehicles from East Kilbride and the surrounding area in recent weeks.
And now devastated Lee said he doesn't know how he will be able to carry out his jobs in the coming days without his valuable tools.
"It's my livelihood and this is just devastating for me," he told the East Kilbride News."I don't know how I am going to do my jobs without my tools - there was probably about £3000 worth of stuff in there."
Lee has been self employed for the last seven years and said this is the "last thing" he needs.
He went on: "I parked up about nine last night, my partner, who works nights, was out at around one this morning and didn't see the van in its usual spot - but she just thought I had parked elsewhere.
"But when I went out later it wasn't there. I began to doubt myself at first but then realised it was gone.
"I just don't know how folk can do this. But I know there has been a few lately and these people know what they are doing."
Lee is urging anyone who sees his van or witnessed anything suspicious to get in touch.

A Ford Transit Tourneo mini bus was also stolen last night from nearby Ash Avenue.
And at Glen More in St Leonards a Toyota Hilux was broken into and tools were stolen from within.
