Brazen thieves have stolen more than 12,000 litres of fuel following two separate raids at Bannockburn’s First Bus depot.
The Cowie Road base was targeted twice in the space of a month where large quantities of diesel were swiped.
The first theft occurred sometime between 12.30am and 3am on Monday, June 21. Crooks got away with 12,000 litres of the fuel and police have CCTV footage of a white lorry at the scene.

Weeks later crooks struck once again. At around 3am on Saturday, July 17, a large amount of the fuel, the quantity of which is unconfirmed, was stolen. Police say that a white refrigerated lorry was seen exiting the scene around this time and officers are following a positive line of enquiry.
A spokesperson for First Midland confirmed the thefts, saying: “I can confirm that two thefts occurred at our Bannockburn depot over the course of the last few weeks where an amount of diesel fuel was stolen from the premises each time.
“The incident has now been reported to Police Scotland and is now subject of a formal police investigation with which we are co-operating fully, including the provision of CCTV footage.”
Fuel theft is becoming more common, but Inspector Liam Harman from Stirling Police Office said: “Fuel thefts of such large quantities are very rare.”
