Thieves steal children's fire engine ride from outside shop in Leeds

Brazen thieves have stolen a coin-operated children's ride from outside a shopping centre in south Leeds.

The electronic fire engine, which is said to be worth around £1,000, was taken from directly outside The Paper Shop at Middleton District Centre at roughly 5.30pm on Thursday, January 30.

The heavy object would have needed a vehicle to take it away quickly and West Yorkshire Police are appealing for any witnesses to get in touch with information.

Many of the stores in the shopping precinct would have been open at the time, including the nearby B&M Store and Iceland, and a number of people are likely to have been in the car park at the time.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who has any information on its current whereabouts is asked to contact officers via 101 quoting crime reference 13200054732 or online via the force's online chat service.

Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
