Thieves steal catalytic converters on NW Side: police

Chicago police are warning NW Side residents of stolen catalytic converters.

Unknown burglars steal catalytic converters from parked cars over night.

Police are warning residents of a recent string of catalytic converters thefts in the Edgebrook, Jefferson and Wildwood neighborhoods on the Northwest Side.

All of the thefts happened overnight on Tuesday, Chicago police said. The thieves targeting vehicles parked on streets.

The burglaries happened:

  • in the 6100 block of North Lenox;
  • in the 6000 block of North Ardmore;
  • in the 6200 block of North Le Mai;
  • in the 5300 block of North Linder;
  • in the 6700 block of North Keota;
  • in the 6100 block of North Legett;
  • in the 6500 block of North Minnetonka; and
  • in the 7100 block of North Mason.

Anyone with information is asked to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8263.
