Thieves steal cash and damage cars during Grandparents' Mass in Hollyford, Co Tipperary

Thieves stole cash and damaged cars during a Grandparents' Mass at a church in Co Tipperary.

The incident happened in the Hollyford area between 9 and 10am on Wednesday, February 5.

Three cars were damaged during the robberies, while cash was taken and a number of tools were stolen from a van.

It is understood that a Grandparents' Mass was taking place at a nearby church at the time of the theft.

A garda spokesman said: "Gardai in Cappawhite are investigating a number of thefts from vehicles that took place on 5th February in the Hollyford area of Co.Tipperary.

"The incidents occurred on the morning of the 5th between 9-10am.

"A significant quantity of tools was taken from a van during the robberies, while criminal damage was caused to three cars and a number of items were taken, including a wallet and cash.

"Investigation ongoing."
