Thieves steal bonnet of ambulance vehicle while it was parked in Ebbw Vale

Police have launched an investigation after a bonnet was stolen from a vehicle belonging to the Welsh Ambulance Service.

During the evening of Friday, January 10, it was reported that one of the ambulance service's fleet on-call vehicles was parked in Beaufort, Ebbw Vale , when the bonnet was swiped.

It follows a similar incident on New Year's Day when three ambulances were damaged and robbed of their fuel in a raid in Tredegar.

The Welsh Ambulance Service announced the latest theft via its Facebook page.

In response to the post, Jayne Powell said: "What is wrong with people?", while Richard Thomas added: "Fuel and now bonnets being stolen from ambulances? There are some real scumbags out there."

And Sarah Jackson said: "Wow! Let's hope whoever did this never have to call Welsh ambulance for them or their family."

A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service NHS said: "If you saw something then please come forward to help us find the people who did this.

"Contact  Gwent Police  on 101 quoting incident number 2000012307."
