Thieves smash their way into skincare clinic and clear the shelves

More than £2,000 worth of skincare products were stolen from a skin clinic in Ashton-under-Lyne.

A large quantity of goods were stolen from SkinHQ on Old Street at around 4am on Saturday ( December 11).

The company is a franchise, offering a range of skin treatments including laser hair removal, cosmetic injections and facials.

Intruders allegedly entered the premises by climbing up onto the roof and smashing the windows.

They then cleared the shelves of skincare products such as different types of cleansers, serums, eye creams and SPF.

Some of these stolen products were from SkinHq's own skincare line and some were from the brand iS Clinical.

Other stolen items include allergen Botox and fillers, a black SkinHQ micro needling machine and a pink e30 Dr Pen micro needling machine.

A HP laptop and a white Sonos speaker system were also taken, along with items from the kitchen area.

Clinic manager Suad Mohammed told the M.E.N: "At SkinHQ, w e have got our own skincare products, which we only launched a couple of weeks ago.

"They are all gone from the shelf.

“It was definitely more than £2,000 worth of products that were stolen.

"They even took things like cutlery, towels, milk and butter from the fridge, a toolbox, kitchen roll, toilet roll, antibacterial wipes and antibacterial handwash.

"Who does that?"

The incident was "traumatising" for the clinic staff, who arrived for their Saturday morning shift and discovered the place was completely trashed.

"It was my day off and my staff had to FaceTime me, panicking, because they were scared," continued Suad.

"All the doors were open. The place was a mess.

"We rang the police and they’ve been really good.

"My staff and I are traumatised. It’s really sad.

"I just think it’s really unfair that people work so hard from Monday to Sunday and get up on a weekend and they build something- and other people can just take it all for free.

"I have never been a victim of burglary and it’s been hard because I have just been chasing my tail since it happened.

"You never think these things will happen.

“So it’s impacted us [at the clinic] and on our mental health a lot.

"But as long as my staff are safe, that’s more important than any material things.

"At least none of us were hurt.

"But it’s a business. We are trying to keep running.

"We have got our clients who we don’t want to disappoint. It’s coming up to Christmas and people want their treatments doing."

The Ashton-under-Lyne branch of SkinHQ, which opened in August this year, has since reopened.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Police received a report on Saturday 11 December of a burglary at a business premises on Old Street, Ashton-under-Lyne.

"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or via our LiveChat function at www.gmp.police.uk or via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
