Thieves slither across floor to avoid alarms after pinching £300,000 worth of jewellery

CCTV footage shows the alarming moment thieves slither across a floor after a £300,000 jewellery heist.

The criminals smashed a hole through the wall of a neighbouring shop and then clambering through a cupboard to get in.

Footage shows the men sliding out of the cupboard and across the floor to avoid the shop’s alarm system. 

The masked men then smash cabinets in the shop, escaping with £300,000 worth of gold.

Police have released images of the stolen Asian gold items after the burglary in Lewisham on February 11.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Leisa Johnson, of the Met’s Flying Squad, said: “A significant quantity of distinctive items of jewellery was taken during this offence and those pieces will have been offered to someone.

“Do you recognise any of the items? Have you been offered Asian gold for sale in other than normal circumstances? If you have any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, please contact police immediately.”
