Thieves ransack city centre jewellers in morning break in

Thieves stole some jewellery from a city centre store on Thursday morning.

Austen & Blake on Parker Street in Liverpool City Centre was the subject of a break-in around 9.40am this morning. Merseyside Police confirmed they were contacted at 9.40am on Thursday, June 2 after reports that people had forced entry to the jewellers.

It was confirmed that jewellery was stolen, with the shop remaining closed at this time. CCTV and witness enquiries are currently being carried out.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO : "We are investigating following reports of a break-in at a jewellers in Liverpool city centre earlier today, Thursday 2 June. We were contacted at 9.40am following reports unknown persons had forced entry to Austen & Blake on Parker Street and stolen items of jewellery.

"The shop was closed at the time. CCTV and witness enquiries are being carried out in the local area. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC quoting log 235 of 2 June."
