Thieves raid West Lothian home in broad daylight and make off with jewellery

A house has been robbed in broad daylight and jewellery stolen.

Detectives in Livingston are continuing enquiries and appealing for information following a break-in at a house in Muir Road, Bathgate.

The break-in occurred sometime between 12 noon and 1.10 pm on Tuesday while the owners were out.

A quantity of jewellery was stolen and enquiries are ongoing to establish if anything else was taken.

Detective Sergeant John Bowerbank said: “Officers are carrying out local enquiries and have been told that there was a man acting suspiciously around the time the break-in occurred.

"He is described as a white male with dark hair and was wearing dark coloured clothing.

“We would like to speak to anyone who has seen this man in the area and may be able to describe him further or anyone else who has information that could assist our enquiries.”

Anyone with information should contact CID at Livingston via 101 and quote incident number 1500 of 17 January 2023. Alternatively calls can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.
