Thieves raid Scots jewellery shop and flee scene on mountain bikes

Cops are appealing for information after a Scots jewellery shop was broken into on Saturday afternoon.

Callous thieves made off with a number of items from the store on Union Street in Larkhall which has had a "massive impact" on the business.

The crooks struck around 4.30pm yesterday as they smashed the window and fled with jewellery on white mountain bikes.

Both suspects were wearing dark clothing and made off towards Academy Street.

Police are urging anyone with information on the incident to get in touch.

Detective Inspector Susie Cairns, Cambuslang CID, said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt during, however this type of crime has a massive impact on the businesses who become victim.

"We are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to get in touch with police so we can trace those responsible.

“The suspects were on distinctive mountain bikes so you may have seen them in the area near the time of the break-in. Please have a think back, were you on Union Street on Saturday afternoon?”

Anyone with any information should contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 2349 of Saturday, 15 January, 2022.

Alternatively you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
