Thieves cause thousands of pounds of damage at care service

Thieves used a crowbar to raid a Kingswood care service where they caused thousands of pounds of damage.

Avon and Somerset Police has launched an investigation following the burglary at Caring Comes 1st, on High Street.

Deputy Manager Laura Warrant said the place had been ransacked, with laptops, tablets and cash stolen during the break-in overnight on June 5.

She said: "It's horrible to come to work and find the place completely ransacked.

"They have broken the back door and we haven't been able to touch anything in here all day.

"There's been a number of break-ins around here recently."

A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm we received reports today (June 6) of a burglary at a commercial property in High St Kingswood, which took place some time between 5pm yesterday and 8am today.

"An investigation is underway."
