'Thieves caught stealing milk deliveries' from Scots doorstep before taking off in car

A shocked Scots home owner has told how he captured two shadowy figures 'stealing milk and other dairy products' from her doorstep.

The alleged theft was filmed on a ring camera, with two hooded figures spotted lifting the dairy delivery in the early hours of the morning before speeding off in a vehicle.

Once the footage was posted on social media, other residents in Dalkeith, Midlothian claimed that the same thing happened to them, with items going missing from their door steps over the last couple of weeks.

The initial video was filmed in the early hours of August 6.

In footage seen by Edinburgh Live, two hooded individuals wearing tracksuits approach the property, picking up the dairy delivery and then take off in a vehicle.

The Dalkeith resident, who captured the footage on a ring camera, told Edinburgh Live: “I hope they choke on my yogurts.

“They stole our milk, yogurt and eggs and we were done out of our Weetabix.

“Trying to see the funny side of it but obviously I feel bad for the milk company as so many people will stop ordering now.

“This is the first time it’s happened to us, but looking at the comments on my post it seems to be happening all the time.”

Other people living in the Dalkeith area also reported having their dairy products ‘stolen’ with one person saying: “I caught them stealing mines the other week.”

Another said: “We've had lots of problems recently.

“The police do actually want it reported so they can hopefully do something about it.

“We had ours stolen all last week.”

A third penned: “We had our milk stolen same people… we also caught them on our ring camera.

“We called the police and they took a report."

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
