Thieves break into Wilko store in Arnold during early hours of the morning

Thieves broke into Arnold's Wilko store in the early hours of the morning.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the break in happened at Arnold's Front Street store at around 1.30am on Tuesday, December 3.

No arrests have been made, a spokeswoman for the force confirmed.

It is not clear what, if any, items were stolen, but a Wilko spokesperson said damage was caused.

The break-in caused the store to open late on Tuesday and it is now open as normal on Wednesday December 4.

A Wilko spokesperson said: “Sadly there was a break in and as a result there was a bit of damage to our Arnold store.

"While there was some initial disruption and late opening of the store on Tuesday (December 3), our team worked hard to put it right as quickly as possible and we are now open as normal.

"We’d like to apologise to all the hardworking families in the area for any inconvenience they experienced.”

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward and call 101 quoting incident number 36 of December 3.
