Thierry Henry issues Odsonne Edouard verdict to Raul Sanllehi as Arsenal eye summer transfer

Arsenal's all-time leading goalscorer Thierry Henry's verdict on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard has been revealed, which encourages the Gunners to complete a swoop this summer.

As reported by football.london, Arsenal have extensively scouted the 22-year-old former Paris Saint-Germain forward during the season so far.

He has been in spectacular form for the Scottish champions this season, scoring 27 goals and providing 19 assists in 45 appearances so far this term.

With uncertainty surrounding the futures of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette, the former of whom is due to enter the final 12 months of his deal, Arsenal are eyeing potential replacements.

Edouard could follow former teammate Kieran Tierney in swapping Scotland for North London at the end of the season and former Celtic star Ally McCoist has revealed Henry rates him extremely highly.

"I spoke to Thierry Henry at the Liverpool vs Leicester City game and he really rates Edouard," McCoist told the Daily Record.

"He was saying in France in particular (Edouard is admired) and he personally really, really thinks he's got a chance of going right to the top."

Arsenal could have competition in the market for the services of the French talent when the transfer window opens, with Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers said to be eyeing a £30m swoop.

That could present a problem for Arsenal, as the Foxes are set to be able to offer Edouard Champions League football following their excelling campaign in the Premier League.
