Thierry Henry hits back at Jose Mourinho's Arsenal jibe with perfect response

Thierry Henry has claimed he never thought about Tottenham - and still doesn't - ahead of the north London derby.

The Arsenal legend was responding to a comment made by Jose Mourinho who hit at out the Gunners following Tottenham's 3-1 defeat at Brammal Lane.

The Special One saw his side outclassed by Sheffield United which further dented their European hopes.

But four days earlier the Gunners had seen off the Blades 2-1 in an FA Cup tie and proceeded to post the highlights on social media with the caption "It’s not easy beating Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. Here’s a reminder of how it’s done".

It bought about the angry reaction from Mourinho who said: "If they [Arsenal] were top of the league or fighting for top four in a really good moment they wouldn’t enjoy the problems of others,"he said.

"You only enjoy the problems of others when you are also in trouble. In the end it says more about them.

"They don’t have much to celebrate [so] they have to get every opportunity to do it. They are in a very similar situation to us in the table."

But Henry, who scored five times in north London derbies, admits he never thought about his rivals during his career.

And the Frenchman has called Mourinho's dig at Arsenal "funny" ahead of the game at Tottenham.

"It’s going to be a weird one, it’s going to be the first one where it’s going to be in this type of situation," he told ESPN. "It’s going to be funny to hear Mourinho talk about it.

"I saw the other day he already started to have a go at Arsenal, that was pretty funny at the end of the day.

"But no, listen, I didn’t think about it too much. Because I don’t think about Tottenham and I never did in fairness so it won’t change."
