Thierry Henry fires 'important' Arsenal transfer warning amid $44m response

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has sent Folarin Balogun a message regarding his future in north London.

Balogun decided to confirm his allegiance to the USMNT following FIFA's approval of the switch. The Hale End academy graduate is eligible to feature for Anthony Hudson's side because he was born in New York.

Now, Gunners icon Henry has admitted that the young centre-forward will need to find a team that consistently gives him minutes, something he is unlikely to be guaranteed in north London. Speaking about Balogun on CBS Sport on Tuesday evening, the Frenchman said: "For him next year, it is important that he plays.

"I don't know if he will play for Arsenal. With England, he had to battle with Callum Wilson, Ivan Toney, Ollie Watkins, Tammy Abraham, Harry Kane. He is a great player for USA as they are missing that No.9.

"He has been great in France, now he has to find a team where he will play next year."

A host of Europe's top clubs have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old in recent times, including Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig.

However, according to Goal, the German club are unwilling to pay the $44 million (£35 million) asking price that Arsenal have placed on the Reims loanee.
