Thierry Henry brilliantly compares Manchester United legend Paul Scholes vs Steven Gerrard

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry named Manchester United great Paul Scholes as the one player he would have loved to play alongside.

Appearing on Sky's Monday Night Football show alongside Scholes' former teammate Gary Neville and ex Liverpool star Jamie Carragher, Henry also said he rated Scholes higher than Anfield legend Steven Gerrard.

His answers prompted a grin from Neville and anger from Carragher and United fans will surely agree with the Frenchman.

Henry's answer to the question: "Which current or former players do you wish you could've played with?" is simple: "Paul Scholes."

“The next one would have been, right behind, very close, Stevie G. But I have to go with Paul Scholes,” Henry added on the Sky Sports show.

“I love Stevie G but Paul Scholes was just....it just ahead in his head. He made Manchester United tick. Every time we were playing them we needed to find a way to stop him.

“It’s true. I think Stevie G comes really close to him. But Paul Scholes would have to win.”

Neville and Carragher have had a long-running friendly rivalry while working for Sky Sports and once famously debated which one of Scholes, Gerrard and Chelsea legend Frank Lampard was the better career.

The trio all played for England together but Scholes was famously farmed out to the left wing by manager Sven Goran Eriksson.
