A prolific thief who targeted shops and garages has been jailed.
John Brandon Haworth, 31, was responsible for a total of seven thefts and a burglary in areas north of Bolton.
Three of the offences were carried out in the space of one week, earlier this month.
Haworth, of Nevis Grove, Astley Bridge was jailed for 12 months at Wigan & Leigh Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, August 27).
On Tuesday, August 11, police attended reports of a theft from a shop in Darwen Road, Bromley Cross.
On Thursday, August 13, officers were also called to reports of a burglary at a garage on Hough Fold Way, in Harwood.
The following day, police attended reports of a theft from outside a shop on Crompton Way, Bolton.
A warrant was later issued for Haworth's arrest after he also failed to appear in court charged with a number of thefts between February and April of this year.
Officers eventually caught up with Haworth on Wednesday when he was arrested and charged with the offences.
