Thief storms Palmerstown home despite alarm booming as urgent local warning issued

An urgent warning has been issued to South Dublin homeowners after a thief ambushed a nearby house in the early hours of the morning.

The thief stormed a house in the Palmerstown area at around 5am on June 15th.

Despite the house alarm booming, they managed to bolt from the Oakcourt Grove home with a handbag.

Palmerstown residents were warned about the incident in a Facebook group.

The post said: ¨Last night 5am. Fled when house alarm activated but grabbed a red bag with a brown strap.

¨If you see it discarded please let us know.

¨If you have CCTV in the area please check it.

¨Always set house alarms at night time and always call Gardai on 999 if you need urgent action.¨

Palmerstown has been targeted with anti-social behaviour before.

Earlier this year one family experienced a horrific nightmare as their house was attacked by brutal thieves twice in one week.

The house at Wheatfield Road, Palmerstown had their door kicked in and windows smashed during the horrible incident.

At the beginning of this month a group of Palmerstown women fell victim to a brazen teen girl gang.

The teenage girls, understood to be between the ages of 13 and 15, pelted the three women with stones, used racial slurs and threatened to kill them.

The victims were followed the whole way down Palmerstown Avenue and were too scared to enter their home in case they were subject to further attacks.

One of the youngsters is understood to have had a pink pocket knife.
