Thief stole gold ring from woman living in Frenchay care home

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a ‘sentimental’ piece of jewellery from an elderly victim in a Bristol care home.

Police believe that an unknown offender entered the victim’s room in a care home on Sterncourt Road in Frenchay between 17 and 18 October and stole a gold full sovereign ring from her finger.

The victim, who was 84 at the time of the theft, was suffering from dementia.

She has since sadly passed away.

According to Avon and Somerset Police the ring was of great sentimental value to her family.
