Thief steals from parked vehicles in Hyde Park: police

Chicago police are warning Hyde Park residents to lock their car doors after someone stole from multiple unlocked vehicles in the South Side neighborhood.

In each incident, the thief was able to get into the parked vehicle without using force, and then took property from inside, Chicago police said.

The thefts happened in the afternoon and evening hours between Nov. 5 and Nov. 23 in:

· The 1500 block of East 53rd Street;

· The 5200 block of South Cornell Ave;

· The 5500 block of South Woodlawn Avenue; and

· The 5200 block of South Woodlawn Avenue.

Police did not provide a description of any suspects.
