It's reported that as they were inside the property treating the patient, a thief smashed their way into the cab of the ambulance to get inside and steal property.

Shortly after, a burglary took place at WH Smith in Wigan Town Centre where several hundreds of pounds of items were stolen.

Yesterday, Monday 22, officers with the help of neighbourhood watch teams made an arrest in relation to the two incidents.

Clifford Faulkner, 36, of no fixed abode was arrested, charged and remanded in custody on suspicion of committing the offences.

Wigan Police said he will appear in court today.
