Thief barged into woman's home and punched her

A man who forced himself into a woman's home before punching her and stealing from her has been jailed.

Kyrie Michael was holding a bottle of vodka as he approached the woman on her doorstep on Boxing Day last year.

The 26-year-old asked the woman if she had dogs to which she answered ‘no’.

He then pushed her inside the house and began looking around the property.

The woman managed to get back outside and rang 999 using her mobile phone.

Moments later, the man snatched the phone and punched her in the face before running away from the scene, off Hucknall Road in Carrington.

He then stormed into another property a few streets away and began searching through cupboards, before leaving with a tube of Pringles.

Again, the homeowner called police and Michael was arrested a short time later after officers tracked him down in a local park.

Michael, of Perlethorpe Avenue, Sneinton, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on November 11 and pleaded guilty to robbery, attempted robbery and theft.

He was jailed for two years and three months.
