Thiago 'wants Liverpool transfer', Luis Suarez exit and other rumours rated

Liverpool are in Austria and continuing with a pre-season training camp ahead of the 2020/21 campaign.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be looking to shape his players and implement new ideas ahead of the Reds' Premier League title defence.

The champions are in little need of any new players but the transfer window is open until October 5 and as ever, the club are being linked with a whole host of players and rivals are being linked with interest.

And so, with that in mind, here is a look at all the rumours concerning the European title holders and the likelihood of them coming off.

Who?

Ben Woodburn, Liverpool attacker.

Where?

According to Goal both Ipswich and Portsmouth interested in signing the Wales international.

The media outlet also say they understand the 20-year-old has admirers in the Eredivisie.

What?

Liverpool are looking to secure another loan deal for Woodburn after the young attacker's spell at Oxford last season was cut short due to a broken foot.

Such links to League One clubs, as reported here, make a lot of sense.

Who?

Thiago Alcantara, Bayern Munich midfielder.

Where?

Fabrizio Romano, writing for The Guardian, are reporting that Liverpool are interested in signing Thiago - though the Reds have supposedly told the Bundesliga club "they are not prepared to pay £27.2m (€30m) for the 29-year-old Spaniard, who has one year left on his contract."

The report also states that "Thiago is keen to join Liverpool, being an admirer of the team’s style of play under Jurgen Klopp."

What?

The ECHO understands that Thiago is not currently an active target for the Reds as things stand, despite Klopp being an admirer of the player, so it simply speculation that any talks have taken place between the clubs right now.

Who?

Luis Suarez, former Liverpool talisman turned Barcelona striker.

Where?

According to Foot Mercato, Dutch giants Ajax are keen on re-signing the forward.

They say, as reported via talkSPORT, that "it is understood the 33-year-old is one of several members of Barcelona's squad who could be sold this summer".

What?

This could be one to keep an eye on - Suarez has just one year left on his contract at the Nou Camp and don't be surprised if he starts being linked with the Reds too before any deal is finalised elsewhere.
