Thiago Silva may wish he had not spoken out on Thomas Tuchel's sacking by Paris Saint-Germain when the German is appointed Chelsea manager.
Tuchel is set to replace Frank Lampard as Blues boss after the latter was dismissed on Monday morning.
The 47-year-old's last post was the PSG job, where he spent two-and-a-half seasons and clinched four major honours.
Silva played under Tuchel for two seasons, winning the domestic treble and reaching the Champions League final last summer before moving to Chelsea as a free agent.
And although Tuchel was dismissed on Christmas Eve 2020, Silva claimed he knew the writing was on the wall for his former manager even while he was still at the club earlier that year.
"It's difficult but it was predictable that this was going to happen," Silva told RMC Sport .
"Not now, but being inside, we knew there were situations that had to be changed. In my opinion, [PSG sporting director] Leonardo took the situation in hand, he made his choice."
Tuchel was sacked the day after a 4-0 win over Strasbourg and Silva added: "We do not know if it was good.
"It was not at all for Tuchel and his staff, especially after the match. This change was not planned at this time."
Silva's comments on Tuchel may make for a tense reunion once the manager arrives at the club's Cobham training ground to begin his tenure.
The 36-year-old also praised Tuchel's replacement at PSG, Mauricio Pochettino, during his interview with the French outlet.
Silva added: "Mauricio Pochettino did a good job with Tottenham, I think he comes very motivated, 20 years after playing for PSG. He knows the club a bit.
"Of course that has changed a lot, but he knows football a lot, he will work with very high level players. I am still a supporter of PSG."
