Thiago Silva sends classy message to former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has sent his former boss Frank Lampard a classy message following his sacking by the club.

The Brazilian joined the Blues last summer so only had a short spell working under the ex England midfielder.

The 36-year-old recently did an interview with the club website regarding new manager Thomas Tuchel, who he played under at former club Paris Saint-Germain between 2019 and 2021.

And after the club posted the story on Instagram, where Silva describes working again with the German as a 'special moment,' he was quick to highlight how grateful he was to Lampard as well for his work with him over the first half of the season.

Silva wrote: "Remembering that I am very grateful to Lampard for he did for me here!!"

It shows the class of the Brazilian international who has been on the club's best players this season.

Silva has brought a new energy to the backline and played a key leadership role for the side who are now looking to push on under Tuchel.

The Blues, who are seventh in the Premier League table, head to London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday evening, looking to make it back-to-back wins and three games unbeaten under Tuchel.

So far, the former Borussia Dortmund boss has overseen a goalless draw with Wolves and a 2-0 victory over Burnley since replacing Lampard last month.

Chelsea are hoping to break into the top six with a victory over Jose Mourinho's side in north London.
