Thiago Silva has already revealed his dream transfer amid Chelsea exit rumours

Chelsea defender Thiago Silva has previously admitted that he ‘dreams’ of a return to Fluminense amid reports that the Brazilian club are considering bringing him back.

The centre-back, who penned a two-year deal with the Blues last summer, has been a really impressive performer since his arrival from Paris Saint-Germain.

He has made 43 appearances for the west London club and was a key part of the side that lifted the team’s second Champions League crown under Thomas Tuchel last term.

Despite his eye-catching performances, the 37-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge remains somewhat uncertain.

His current deal expires in the summer and he could potentially be set to leave on a free transfer alongside defensive colleagues Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta.

Of course, the Blues will be keen for him to stay but there is already a threat to that plan with reports from Tuttomercatoweb suggesting that Fluminense have opened discussions with Silva’s representatives regarding a potential deal and that he would be keen on a move.

Of course, the veteran represented the Brazilian outfit earlier in his career ahead of a move to Italian giants AC Milan.

He made 80 appearances in all competitions and has since admitted that it would be his dream to return to his former club.

Speaking in an interview with TNT Sports back in January, he said: “If I told you that I don't think about it, I'd be lying to you.

“It's something that I think about, I already talked a few times with my wife. When you have a long career in Europe, your children grow up in Europe, this decision is difficult.

“I do have this dream of returning to wear the shirt of Fluminense, everyone knows my desire. But it's something I prefer to leave in the future to see how things are going to happen.

“It's a difficult decision to be made, but I'm really thinking with great affection and suddenly I have this Libertadores mission again.”

It remains quite to be seen whether there are plans in place to offer Silva a new deal at Stamford Bridge but knowledge of interested parties could potentially nudge the club into making a decision either way.
