Thiago Silva drops Instagram hint over Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea team selection vs Aston Villa

Thiago Silva may have dropped a big hint about starting Chelsea's final Premier League game of the season.

The Blues face Aston Villa this afternoon amid their three-way battle with Liverpool and Leicester City to wrap up a top-four finish which means Champions League football is assured for next season.

Ahead of the game at Villa Park, Chelsea are third on 67 points, Liverpool are fourth on 66 points and the Foxes are now are outside of the top-four due to their inferior goal-difference to the Reds.

But Chelsea's destiny lies in their own hands as they will seal a top-four spot with a victory against Dean Smith's side regardless of what Leicester do against Tottenham Hotspur and what Liverpool do at home to Crystal Palace.

For Blues head coach Thomas Tuchel, he has hinted at naming the strongest team possible to go in search of all three points instead of having to rely on results from elsewhere.

"We put so much hard work, quality into the last months," the German said in his pre-match press conference. "We want to finish the game on Sunday, but we don't know what expects us.

"Anything can happen in 90 minutes of football."

But is Thiago Silva in line to retain his place in Tuchel's starting XI for a fourth successive game across all competitions?

That may be the case as if his social media activity is anything to go by.

Taking to Instagram, Thiago Silva has done his best to hype up the big game at Villa Park which could suggest he's in line to start at the heart of the Blues' defence.

The likes of Jorginho and Ben Chilwell have done similar whenever they've been included in a Chelsea starting XI this season.

And they too are in contention to start this afternoon.

The Blues go into the game on the back of a 2-1 win over Leicester City in the Premier League, whilst Aston Villa came from behind to beat Tottenham Hotspur earlier in the week.
