Azpilicueta praises Blues' fighting spirit after Porto win

Cesar Azpilicueta has praised his Chelsea team-mates for the fighting spirit they demonstrated over two legs against Porto.

The Blues progressed to the semi-finals of the Champions League with a 2-1 aggregate victory over the Portuguese outfit.

Azpilicueta, who was part of the Chelsea side that lost to Porto in the second-leg but still managed to progress, has lauded the spirit shown by the English team.

"We know that Porto every time make the games very difficult for their opponents. They don’t let you play, they are very aggressive, so you have to fight," the Spanish defender said.

"The team showed that spirit and when you want to get through it doesn’t matter how.

"Of course, we are very honest and we know that we can play better, but sometimes it’s the game to dig in, to fight together, and the team showed that spirit in the two games."
