Thiago has echoed Jurgen Klopp by heaping praise on Fabinho for his exemplary defensive-midfield display in Liverpool's victory over RB Leipzig.
The Brazilian was a standout performer as the Reds secured their spot in the Champions League quarter-finals with a 2-0 second-leg win over the German club.
Due to Liverpool's defensive injury crisis, Fabinho has spent the majority of the season filling in at centre-back.
But against Leipzig he made his first start in his natural position - the No. 6 role at the base of midfield - since October and his return had a positive impact on the entire Liverpool team.
The 27-year-old gave the defence much-needed structure and protection, and allowed Gini Wijnaldum and Thiago to excel in the more advanced midfield roles.
Fabinho clearly relished his return to midfield and left Klopp in no doubt on where he would like to play in future games after the match.
Klopp said: "I told him (Fabinho) on the way downstairs you like the position six more then? He said yeah. You couldn't show it more clear!
"We all want Fab on the six. Tonight he played there and the two centre-halves played an incredible game, to be honest.
"The whole last line played a really good game. We had to press them. We defended deep really well, not only in Champions League but especially.
"Everybody had a really good game. The three in midfield worked really well together."

Thiago agreed with Klopp's comments after he produced one of his best performances for Liverpool since his £20million arrival from Bayern Munich last summer.
The Spaniard - who also drew special praise from his manager - was allowed to float forward from midfield and exploit space between Leipzig's lines knowing Fabinho was there to cover him.
"He [Fabinho] is a great player," said Thiago. "He gives us a lot of confidence in our backs, and it's awesome to play alongside him.
"It frees me up a bit, I can move some lines forward and with that I can be more confident and play with the strikers.
"I enjoy playing a bit more advanced because you're always near the goal and you can create chances and score. It's a nice position."
Given Fabinho has received numerous glowing reports for his performance in defensive midfield, it seems likely he will continue there as Liverpool travel to Wolves in the Premier League on Monday.
