Thiago Alcantara respects Jurgen Klopp tradition and says words Liverpool fans will love

Suited and Booted

Thiago Alcantara arrived at Anfield as a Liverpool player for the first time in style.

The 29-year-old midfielder set foot inside his new home after joining from Bayern Munich and completely looked the part.

He donned a swanky dark suit and white shirt with a dressed-down pair of high-top canvas trainers.

Oh, and a mask too. Safety first.

"Are you playing?"

Thiago video-called his daughter while performing his digital and media duties at Anfield.

Changed into the new Nike home strip, he says: "Gabi, look at daddy's shirt, my love!"

"Which team is it? Are you playing?" she responds.

"No, daddy isn't gonna play now, love. I'm just having some photos taken."

I get the feeling she will soon know all about Liverpool - and have a few jerseys of her own!

Scouse Talk

An amazing touch from the Liverpool media team included Thiago asking, "How are we?" in his best Scouse tongue.

The club put out a clip of this after he put pen-to-paper on Merseyside....but it wasn't quite the first take.

Thiago initially approached the camera and breaks down in laughter, adding: "I couldn't be serious!"

His next go was much better.

If it really was the second-take, of course....

When he did get it right, Liverpool staff gave him a lovely round of applause. Aw.

Home of the Champions

A nice moment is Thiago stood recording the Anfield turf from inside the tunnel area.

"We are here," he says. "The home of the Premier League champions."

Those are the words Liverpool fans will love to hear all season.

Jurgen Klopp Tradition

I saved the best until last.

Speaking in 2016, Jurgen Klopp said: "I've told my players not to touch the 'This Is Anfield' sign until they win something.

"It's a sign of respect. I touched it when I was manager of Borussia Dortmund but we lost 4-0."

Thiago is firmly behind the wishes of his manager.

"To touch that symbol we have to deserve it to win as many trophies as we can," he added.

"That is why today I will respect that tradition."
