Thiago Alcantara makes major Bayern Munich admission and gives one-word answer to Liverpool transfer rumour

Liverpool linked Thiago Alcantara has spoken out about his future in a possible twist which could see him remain at Bayern Munich this summer.

The Spain midfield also refused to comment on Liverpool and Manchester United transfer rumours.

Thiago featured in the Champions League final less than two weeks ago, lifting the trophy and taking the Reds' European crown alongside former Liverpool star Phillippe Coutinho following a narrow 1-0 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

It was a result and a performance from the 29-year-old that led to many fans excited over the prospect he could make a move to the Premier League, following reports he refused a new contract at the German champions.

The midfielder hasn't taken an extended holiday as he played the full 90 minutes for his country as Spain took on Germany in the UEFA Nations League on Thursday evening.

Following the 1-1 draw, the much talked about player was asked about his future and for the first time, there seemed to be an admission he could stay at Bayern Munich.

Speaking to ZDF he said: "I only think about the game against Ukraine. Afterwards, we will see."

"Bayern is my home and I am happy to be there."

Anfield insiders have insisted that no offer has been made for the midfielder, though any move is likely to hinge on the future of Gini Wijnaldum, who has been linked with Barcelona.

Thiago was also asked about his options and whether he would choose Premier League champions Liverpool or their bitter rivals Manchester United, who have already bolstered their midfield options this summer with Donny van de Beek from Ajax.

He ended the conversation there, smiling at the interviewer and declaring: "Ciao!" as he refused to answer before leaving.

Bayern Munich bosses have claimed they are expecting a bid from somewhere for their £30m rated man but with the transfer window open until October 6, this saga will continue for a while.
