Thiago Alcantara joins Liverpool training as Jurgen Klopp handed triple boost

Thiago Alcantara has been seen kicking a ball during Liverpool training for the first time since October.

The star midfielder appears to now be at the end of a rehabilitation period following a horror tackle from Everton winger Richarlison two months ago in the Merseyside derby.

There has been much speculation that the Spain international was imminently due to return for the Reds and he has now been seen at the AXA Training Centre joining in with the warm-up and sharing a joke with Jurgen Klopp while also showing off his skills with the ball at his feet.

Thiago has only featured twice for the Premier League champions since arriving at Anfield in the summer transfer window.

However, there is a huge hope he can become a permanent fixture in the side due to his world-class talent on the field.

It is unclear whether Thiago joined in with the main session or just the warm-up, but if he was able to train fully alongside his team-mates and does so again on Christmas Day, he'll come into contention to face West Brom at Anfield on Sunday.

James Milner, who has been out with a hamstring injury since suffering the blow against Brighton at the end of November, was also pictured at training on Wednesday getting stuck into tackles and being fully involved in the session.

And in yet more positive news for Klopp, Xherdan Shaqiri also joined in with part of the session and could be seen knocking the football around and warming up alongside his team mates too.

The Swiss international was ruled out of Liverpool's squad for the 3-0 win against Leicester back in November and hadn't been seen until today.
