Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Thiago Alacantra could be in line for an instant Liverpool debut at Chelsea on Sunday.
Thiago signed a four-year deal on Friday after the Reds agreed an initial £20million deal - plus £5m of potential add-ons - with Bayern Munich for the midfielder.
Liverpool have confirmed the 29-year-old will wear the number six shirt vacated by Dejan Lovren, who left for Zenit St Petersburg earlier in the summer.
Thiago's paperwork was filed before the noon deadline for the player to be eligible for the Reds' trip to Stamford Bridge this weekend.
And Klopp has indicated the new boy could be thrown straight into the matchday squad for the clash against the FA Cup finalists.

Asked if supporters had a chance of seeing Thiago play on Sunday, the Reds boss said on Friday: "If they watch LFCTV this afternoon, he will train!
"You meant the match...we will see. I didn’t make the squad now for Sunday. We will see what we can do."
Speaking to liverpoolfc.com, Klopp added: "I didn’t meet him now, we had only phone calls and exchanged messages. So, let’s have a look how he feels.
"Around a transfer like this the days are pretty busy with things you usually don’t do. If he looks all right, we will find the right place for him."
Thiago last played a competitive match when starring for Bayern in their Champions League final win over Paris Saint-Germain on August 23.
