'They were everywhere' Former Leeds United man on what made the difference against Stoke City

Former Leeds United midfielder and EFL on Quest pundit Michael Brown lauded the performances of Stuart Dallas and Ezgjan Alioski on Saturday night.

The Whites comprehensively beat Stoke City 3-0 on their own patch to continue their promotion push.

Marcelo Bielsa's side sit top of the Championship, with four wins and a draw from their opening five league fixtures.

Whilst Pablo Hernandez pulled the strings, it was United's marauding fullbacks that grabbed the media's attention, with a goal apiece.

Dallas has made a superb start to the season at right-back, in place of the injured Luke Ayling , and it looks like it might be a tall order for last season's first-choice fullback to regain his starting spot.

Ezgjan Alioski was a key performer for Leeds United at the bet365 Stadium (Leeds United's Ezgjan?Alioski celebrates scoring his side's second goal Photographer Stephen White/CameraSport The Premier League - Stoke City v Leeds United - Saturday August 24th 2019 - bet365 Stadium - Stoke-on-Trent World Copyright © 2019 CameraSport. On the other side, Alioski has started the last two matches after biding his time on the substitutes bench, with Barry Douglas starting the season in the left-back berth.

Both were in sensational form in the Potteries, constantly providing a threat down the flanks, allowing Hernandez and Harrison to weave their magic infield.

Former Leeds enforcer Brown, part of Quest TV's punditry team on Saturday night, was full of praise for the pair as they helped seal another important three points.

Brown, who made over 60 appearances for the club in a three-year spell at Elland Road, said: “They were everywhere.

"Having Phillips in that back-three allows them to go wherever they want, they can come inside, they can go outside.

"That’s a brilliant run (Dallas’ goal), it’s a late run. It was timed very well and Dallas got in for a great finish.

“Then we see build-up play again, little one-twos. They were great at it and Bamford then turns, great ball into the back post and Alioski is there for an absolute tap in.

“That’s great being able to adapt, sometimes at left-back and high up left-wing-back.”
