They're back - Wigan Warriors players report back to Robin Park after Covid-19 lockdown

Several Wigan Warriors players returned to action today after the club was given the green light to resume pre-season training.

The club's Robin Park has been shut down for ten days following an outbreak of Covid-19 within the first-team playing group.

But the RFL's Multiple Cases Group has allowed the club to restart their pre-season preparations after undergoing two rounds of testing.

The club couldn't wait to show their stars back at training, with Adrian Lam preparing his side for their Super League opener with Leigh Centurions in five weeks.

Wigan, last year's Grand Finalists, had left players to complete their own home training programmes while Robin Park was locked down.

A deep clean of the facility took place while it was left unoccupied.

The likes of Oliver Gildart, Morgan Smithies and Zak Hardaker were among those who reported back to the club today as Adrian Lam watched on.

Stars Jackson Hastings and Bevan French are both expected to link up with the squad before the end of the month.

Wigan now know their second-round fixture too, with Lam's men set to open the week's action against Wakefield Trinity.
