I'm actually quite pro-European, but when I see something like this the red mist starts to come down all over again.
Along with the rest of Europe, the UK tends to shut up shop a bit over the summer - if you were freelance like I am you'd see commissions dropping off, on the other hand there's holiday cover work. But the summer definitely gets a bit peculiar in work terms, and I like it that way - it's part of living in the Western part of the developed world.
And apparently it's got to change. No doubt it's a threat to civilisation or something, but I can't help noticing that it's worked so far.
