Rafa Benitez has given his thoughts on the banner that appeared in the away end during Everton's loss to Brentford on Sunday.
The Blues suffered another disappointing defeat at the weekend, extending their winless Premier League run to over two calendar months, thanks to a first-half penalty from Ivan Toney.
Ahead of the match, travelling fans revealed a message which read: "We demand Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, it's about time our club did too."
Asked about the banner and the state of Everton in general right now, the manager made clear everyone associated with the club is striving to improve at every level.
Benitez told his pre-Liverpool press conference: "I think that the analysis has to be done in a careful way.
"The club is spending a lot of money, the club is trying to do their best in every single department. That's something you can see from the beginning when you come here and everybody's trying to improve things.

"We started the season doing really well and everyone was happy with that. Because we don't have good results now, you can question everything.
"I think the club is trying to do their best and we cannot forget one thing. It's a massive thing, the new stadium, for this club. Everything will change.
"We have to be sure we continue supporting, we continue behind the team, we continue pushing. We will be better and we want to be better."
The players were roundly booed off the pitch at the weekend after their dismal performance against Brentford, sparking fears from many that the atmosphere at Goodison in the coming days could be toxic.
However, Benitez doesn't believe that will be the case.
"Hopefully not, I think the fans are intelligent and they know we need them," he added.
"The fans are crucial and the main thing for us. If they are behind the team, you could see the atmosphere in the first game - they were behind the team, and the team was reacting.
"I think they will realise how important they are for the players.
"You can complain if the players are not playing well, and you can say they can play better or not, or the tactics or not good enough or whatever - you can complain about that.
"But at the same time, they cannot complain about the commitment of the players, the desire or the effort. You are expecting an Everton player to give everything, and after try to play as well as you can.
"I think they will realise how important they are for the team and, it's a derby, I'm sure they will be behind the team."
