'They have issues!' - Spurs fans won't like what pundits have predicted for Leicester City test

Spurs have no time to feel sorry for themselves after a disappointing second half performance in their 2-2 draw with Olympiakos with another big Premier League clash awaiting them at the weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino ’s men looked like they had finally found their form with a convincing 4-0 demolition of Crystal Palace last weekend but Wednesday night’s draw in Greece saw some familiar issues crop up as they allowed Olympiakos to come from 2-0 down to earn a point.

Things don’t get any easier for Tottenham as they must travel to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester in Saturday’s early kick off, with the pundits

Though he expects Spurs to find their feet eventually, Mark Lawrenson thinks Saturday will come too soon for Tottenham as he expects a 1-1 draw.

“Tottenham have got their own issues, after throwing away a 2-0 lead against Olympiakos on Wednesday night,” the former Liverpool man says in his column for the BBC.

“They did the same at Arsenal in the Premier League at the start of September and this time Mauricio Pochettino gave his side a bit of a shellacking afterwards. Spurs have been very up and down so far this season, but I don't think they have too much to worry about - they are a good side, with some quality players.

“Sometimes you just start the season slowly - it happened to Liverpool sometimes in my time there - but the most important thing is how you finish the campaign, not how you start it. You just know Spurs are going to have a run where they win loads of games, but they might have to wait a bit longer to get up and running.”

Similarly, ex-Liverpool striker Michael Owen admits he is anticipating a score draw on Saturday afternoon.

“Spurs eased their way past Crystal Palace after a scintillating first-half display at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday,” he told BetVictor.

“But they may have to settle for a point at the King Power in what promises to be a terrific game.”

Meanwhile, former Arsenal forward Charlie Nicholas has unsurprisingly predicted a defeat for Spurs, backing Leicester to pull off a 2-1 win as he speculated about some discontent in the Tottenham squad.

“Tottenham, we were told, have calmed down after the Crystal Palace game,” he writes in his column for Sky Sports. “Christian Eriksen stays put and they have their private chat, but I don't think that is the case.

“I don't think Danny Rose is happy - how long will it be until he comes out and says he is not happy? Will Eriksen stay in the team now that Dele Alli is back? Does Heung-Min Son edge out Lucas Moura? There are so many questions.

“I think Leicester could turn them over. With the aggression and passion, they can control the passing and keep the ball, sit back and counter-attack if needs be. Barnes needs to grow, but needs the opportunity to grow, and this could be the game for him.”
