Since Donald Trump took office for a second term this year, he has made it very clear that he is not the biggest supporter of the immigrant population in the US. If his repeated attacks, where he refers to them as ‘illegal aliens,’ were not enough, Trump has been taking extreme measures to marginalise and demonise immigrants, some of whom have been living in the United States for decades.
In an effort to crack down on the immigrant population in the US, President Donald Trump, with the help of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, has been conducting raids across America. The shocking visuals of these events appear almost daily on social media, leaving citizens in complete disbelief. Adults are being forcibly removed from their homes, workplaces, and vehicles in front of onlookers, and children are being mistreated, roughly handled, and zip-tied in front of their families and friends. The damage from these actions? Irreparable. Yet, Trump and his Republican buddies will not stop, nor will they acknowledge that their actions are wrong.
In fact, it’s quite the opposite. In several press conferences, Trump can be seen boasting about his handling of the immigrant population while expressing eagerness to extend his control beyond current limits. Not just Trump, but several Republicans and Republican sympathisers like House Speaker Mike Johnson and Vice President JD Vance also take turns to brag about their efforts, while completely ignoring the resentment their actions are causing.
In a new video that has been circulating on social media and has everyone outraged, an elderly black man is seen sharing his experience of being confronted by ICE on suspicion of being an illegal immigrant. He notes that when he was approached, he mentioned that he had official documents proving he wasn’t an illegal immigrant, but they were unwilling to listen. He recalled getting picked up in a truck which had at least forty other people in it. The man’s comments triggered a flurry of comments on X. One person highlighted the inhuman nature in which ICE functions and wrote:
“They get paid per body, not conviction. ICE don’t care.”
Another person said a similar thing and remarked that ICE were “armed masked bounty-hunters who get paid for “each body they snatch off the streets.
