'They don’t have all the reasons I have' Marcelo Bielsa addresses fans' Eddie Nketiah demands

Marcelo Bielsa says that is natural that Leeds United fans will disagree with him over starting Patrick Bamford ahead of Eddie Nketiah but adds that supporters do not necessarily see what he does when it comes to the duo.

Arsenal loanee Nketiah came off the bench to rescue a result for the Whites once again versus Preston North End on Tuesday, with his late strike salvaging a point in a 1-1 draw.

Bamford, who has held down a regular starting position for United this season however, was unable to end his current drought, taking his current goalless streak to eight matches.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Bielsa however stated that he has his reasons for keeping the ex-Middlesbrough man in his starting line-up, though he admits that the choice on which to field remains difficult.

"When you have more than one option for one place in the team, it’s never a problem," the Argentine stated. "It’s two solutions to one problem. I try to manage this.

"When you manage this, this fact had some difficulties the supporters cannot see. It’s natural that people argue with my decision because they don’t have all the reasons I have.

"Bamford is a great player and Eddie Nketiah is a great player as well. I am forced to make both of them a success this year because if not I am not going to take advantage of one of them. If one of them has success I will not be able to take advantage of the other one.

"This process lasts nine months and we have 46 matches or 50 matches. We are in the 25 per cent of the competition. We have time in the future so I can find a way both of them will shine.

"If this doesn’t happen it’s not going to be a mistake of mine. In the last press conference I said if Nketiah is not a success  in Leeds the only responsibility for that will be mine. It’s the same with Patrick. I am trying to make this work."
